Pre-Event Set Up: This is an exclusive day spent helping the staff with some of the larger, more fun projects. We plan and create a grid for the campsite, build the bike racks for Bike Parking, and unload the supply trucks. Lunch will be provided for those staying the whole shift. 6 people are needed from 1pm to 5pm.

Friday Night Packet Pick-Up and Prizes: Meet and greet riders while they pick up their info packets and gear. Smiles and organizational skills are a plus! It can get busy but that’s part of the fun. Plus, there’s a spaghetti dinner!
5 people are needed from 3:30pm to 8 pm.
Takes place at the Ventura Marriott

Route Marking Team: This is an action position for someone itching to move fast and get er’ done. Our 100 miles of bike route need to be marked so that riders can find their way. This consists of driving the route and pulling over to put up arrow markers and signs. It’s a great job for people in pairs to tackle it all together. If you’re new to this job, you’ll be partnered with a staff member who will train you.
6 people are needed from at least a 3 hour shift on Friday and/or Saturday. 8 hour shifts are the longest possible. It is not required that you sign up for both days to hold this position.

Day of Event Set Up: See the calm before the storm and help set up equipment including tables, fencing, banners, signs, and other related items. Includes moderate to heavy lifting. Let’s watch the sunrise together while getting some work done!
5 people needed for Saturday 5 am to 8 am and 2 for Sunday 6 am to 8 am.

Breakfast: This is a social position! Assist with unloading, serving, and clearing away breakfast. Must be able to stand for two to three hours at a time.  Breakfast is a great position that allows you to meet everyone on the ride, plus you’re sure to get fed!
4 people needed for Saturday 5 am to 9 am and Sunday 6 am to 8:30 am.

Bike MS Spirit Team: This is what Bike MS is all about! The Spirit Team is one of the most important jobs at the event. Cheer on the riders who have just ridden the ride of their lives! You will also unpack our cherished Bike MS medals and hand them out to individual riders as they cross the finish line. This position is great for cheer and dance groups, girl/boy scout troops, and families.

Unlimited amounts of people are needed for each of the following shifts:

Medical Team: Volunteer First Responders, EMTs, paramedics and nurses are needed to provide basic first aid assistance at the finish line, along the route at Rest Stops, and over night at the camp.
20 people are needed for varying shifts of 5-8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. Overnight Saturday night: 7 pm to 6 am

Rest Stop Teams: This is an active and social position! It’s one of our best, actually. Help set up, tear down, and operate rest stops throughout the Bike MS Tour. The Rest Stops provide refreshment and snacks as well as a place to rest for the riders. Supplies will be provided by the MS Society.  There are various locations along the route available. This opportunity is ideal for groups, but you must be able to stand for long periods. Shift times are dependent on your Rest Stop location. Locations will be chosen in coordination with the Volunteer Manager.

10 volunteers needed for each 7 stops on Saturday and each 5 stops on Sunday:
Saturday for approx. 5 hrs between 6 am to 5 pm
Sunday for approx. 5 hrs between 6 am to 4:30 pm

Rider Check-In: This is a social position. Meet all the riders as you assist them with checking in riders and collecting their donations. This is great opportunity for people who need shade or a seated position. You must be 18 years old for this position.
6 people needed for Saturday at 5:30 am to 9am and Sunday at 5:30 am to 9 am.

Motorcycle Safety Team: One of our most prestigious positions! Volunteers on motorcycles will be stationed along the route to direct Riders at blind intersections or dangerous sections. You would provide safety awareness and play a critical role in enforcing the rules of the road along the route. Motor Safety works as a team and will be headed up by our Motor Safety Captain. Team members must provide own motorcycle and helmet, as well as copy of insurance and driver’s license. Meals are provided and gas will be reimbursed for all route mileage.
15 people are needed for Saturday beginning at 6:30 am and Sunday at 6 am. Shifts go as long as the team is needed, but will be done by 5 pm at the latest.

Event Clean Up: Stick it out till the end! Clean Up crew members help take down team tent decorations, tables, chairs, and help clean up the event site. The staff doesn’t go home until this work is done so be our hero and join the Event Clean Up crew.

Bike Parking This is a social position! Help the riders park their bikes after the ride and get the latest news from the route! Volunteers will check in and check out bikes, organizing them by rider numbers and carefully storing them on bike racks. Moderate lifting may be required.
6 people needed for each of the following shifts:

Volunteer Check In: This is the central hub of the event! This is a social position with high activity in the morning. Help check in and orient all the other Event Crew members who are there to make Bike MS happen. 
2 people are needed for

General Volunteer: Don’t know exactly which position you want? Just want to help where you’re needed most? These Event Crew members sub in for cancellations, stand in for those who need a break, and lend that all important extra hand.
Unlimited people needed for the following shifts:

Event Parking Team: This is an action position! Help get everyone into the event safely and quickly. This team sells parking passes and directs cars to park.  You also make sure only those that are with the Bike MS event park in the lot. We paid for those spots! 
8 people needed for Saturday Shift 1 from 5 am to 10:30 am.
6 people needed for Sunday Shift 1 from 5:30 am to 9 am.

Prize Tent: This is a social position! Congratulate riders and volunteers on the great job they’ve done fundraising for MS research and programs. Collect prize redemption cards and distribute all the amazing Bike MS prizes. 
4 people needed for each of the following shifts:

Lunch/Dinner: This is a social position! Assist with unloading and serving lunch/dinner for the participants and volunteers of Bike MS. Must be able to stand for two to three hours at a time. Help hungry people get happy!
10 people needed for the following shifts:

Sweep: This is an action position! Be an angel on the road as you circulate throughout the route providing assistance to riders in need. (i.e. assisting with flat tire repair, giving riders electolyte replacement drinks and food) and transporting hurt riders to rest stops where they will be picked up by a SAG vehicle. Must provide copy of insurance and driver’s license. Gas will be reimbursed for all route mileage. Lunch will be provided.
